Shupp Residence

Todd & Charlene Shupp of Slatington moved into a family-owned home which was built circa 1950. When they decided to renovate, Home Solutions Partners was their choice to bring things up-to-date and at the same time add a little more space.

The front before and after pictures show how removing the shed porch roof, extending the right side of the home and adding a full gabled roof dramatically changes the appearance of the residence. We also angled the wall with the new entry door and added a new Bay Window with a half turret roof immediately modernizing the façade. This porch closure adds 193 square feet of useable interior area. The white lap siding, soffits, fascias and gutters were replaced with warm earth tones. New tan vinyl siding was added along with new energy efficient tan vinyl double-hung windows. Trim colors of
beam wrap, soffits, fascia and gutters were done in Clay/Jefferson Tan. Down spouts become unobtrusive with a Wicker color to match the siding a Home Solutions Partners trait. To complete the makeover a complimentary cultured stone was installed over the existing chimney, to window sill height on the left and all the way to top of the porch beam on the right front side to encompass the Bay Window. A single structural tan vinyl/steel post was used with engineered beam to keep the remaining porch as open as possible. Oval vents in the gables are functional and architecturally mimic the oval glass of the entry for an added detail.

The rear of the abode  is equally revised by once again removing a small shed roof. The existing porch foundation was increased in width and depth and another addition with a gable roof adds an additional 127 square feet of living space. Twin double-hung windows and 6’ wide French Doors open up to this rear elevation. Coach lights and a small circular gable vent add finishing touches.

A new modern kitchen and new flooring from front addition to rear addition revamps the interior.

Adding just 320 square feet and careful aesthetically pleasing design applications by Home Solutions Partners sure puts this dwelling’s best foot forward.
